On March 21, twelve Czech coffeehouses are celebrating the World Poetry Day by allowing their customers to pay for coffee by own poems.
“Any customer who will visit us on March 21 and order a cup of coffee will be informed that he or she can use their own poetry as a currency. If they agree, we’ll give them a pencil and a paper to eternalize their verses. The written poems will then be displayed publicly so that everyone can read them,” said Goran Jovičić, the owner of the Olala Café in Pilsen. They will also be published on their Facebook page.
If you are in Prague you can visit either Café Louvre in Prague 1 or Kidó bistro in Prague 7 – both of which are participating in the initiative.
